CCM's Grants for C19RM

CCM’s Grants for C19RM The C19 RM 2020 grant was approved in response to the funding request submitted by Nigeria at the onset of the COVID-19 epidemic. The grant implementation timeline was one calendar year (June 1, 2020 – June 30, 2021) and a total of USD60,303,541.70 was approved to support priority interventions in the following broad areas: 1. COVID-19 control and containment including health systems strengthening and 2. Mitigating the impact of COVID-19 on HIV, Tuberculosis, and Malaria. 3. Urgent improvements in health and community systems The C19RM2.0 grant of $291.86m was approved starting with the Fast Track fund approved in June 2021, then $50.083m for urgent procurement, and the full funding of $195.228m was approved in August 2021. An additional fast-track approval was provided in May 2022 to the tune of $44.695m. The goal of the second wave COVID-19 grant is to pre-position Nigeria’s pandemic preparedness and response system to respond to a possible third wave of the pandemic. It will also help to maintain the current COVID-19 control and containment measures and complement the efforts of the Government of Nigeria and other partners in strengthening laboratory and cold-chain storage and transport systems to support research and effective vaccination.
