The Global Fund relates with recipient countries only through the Country Coordinating Mechanism. The Federal Government, through the Federal Ministry of Health, facilitated the establishment of the Country Coordinating Mechanism (CCM) Nigeria on the 5th of March 2002, as the only recognized entity with the mandate to access Global Fund grants on behalf of the country.
The CCM Nigeria has 16 members representing various constituencies who are elected/ selected representatives of these constituencies.
The CCM Nigeria is a legal entity and has been successful since inception.
